Do I need to worry about any sort of entertainment insurance?2017-06-08T17:12:38-06:00

None whatsoever! We carry $5 million of liability insurance, are in good standing with the Workers Compensation Board, and are even licensed to perform in Banff and Banff National Park. We remove all risk from the client, so you don’t need to worry about anything when you hire us! If you are considering other dueling pianos shows, ask them what they’re doing to protect you as a valued client. Ask for their proof of insurance, a WCB clearance letter, and a copy of their business licenses.

How much do you cost?2017-06-08T17:12:19-06:00

No event is one sized fits all, so we always provide a custom quote based on your event needs. For example, if you have an audience larger than 500 people, we will need to discuss different production requirements than if you’re having an intimate event of 20.

Is Dueling Piano Kings different from hiring a band?2017-06-08T17:09:03-06:00

Without a doubt. With a band, you typically have 4, 6, or 8 people on stage. However, when in a recessionary economy, such as we are now, all the additional expenses of rider requirements with a band may quickly escalate your event budget. Can you justify a band when sales are down 30%, or you’ve laid off hundreds of people?

With Dueling Piano Kings, we have minimal overhead, are able to customize your entertainment more easily, and, we even let you come up on stage and sing your favourite song with us. This is something most bands will not even consider. Lower costs than a band, more interaction, and more flexibility with the playlist that you want – this is just the start of how Dueling Piano Kings differs from hiring a band.

What songs will you play?2017-06-08T17:09:32-06:00

Whatever songs you want! Our shows are completely customizable, and Pat and Craig have an incredibly expansive repertoire. Whether you’re looking for standards, country, pop, or rock n roll, the Dueling Piano Kings will make sure that your guests get to hear exactly what they want!

How much space will you need?2017-06-08T17:09:53-06:00

Ideally a 16 ft wide by 12 ft deep area and stage that is 6-12 inches high is perfect. This allows us excellent interactivity and connection with the audience. However, we can still customize to any set up. A stage is not absolutely necessary at every venue.

Do I need to provide request forms for attendees to make music requests?2017-06-08T17:11:13-06:00

No. We provide all requests forms – equipped with pencils – for your audience.

What do I need to provide so that you can perform?2017-06-08T17:07:05-06:00

Just some power to plug into! Our show is very efficient and requires only 2 standard wall plugs for power. We bring the digital pianos (with beautiful shells that make them look – and sound – like real baby grands), the mics, the lights, the sound system, and everything else we’ll need throughout the evening, leaving you free to make sure your event is a success!

Is your performance suitable for all ages?2017-06-08T17:06:18-06:00

Absolutely! With a track record of providing fun, reliable musicianship and all-ages appropriate comedic stylings, you can count on Dueling Piano Kings to bring the best in professionalism and entertainment. Our show content is always clean, tasteful, and suitable for all ages.

How long do you usually play for?2017-06-08T17:05:57-06:00

A typical show runs between 2 – 3 hours without any breaks. However, we can customize performance length to your event.

How long does it take you to set up?2017-06-08T17:05:31-06:00

Usually only around 60 minutes!

How long have the primary Dueling Piano Kings been playing for?2017-06-08T17:05:09-06:00

Pat McGannon is a classically trained pianist who’s been playing for 49 years. He’s toured Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan, and is a founding member of the Calgary band The Dino Martinis. He started his first band in 1981, and is the president and owner of the award-winning entertainment agency PM GIGS.

Craig Learmont has been playing the piano for more than 40 years, and has performed at more than 1000 shows at over 100 different venues. He’s opened stadium shows for the likes of Reba McEntire, Gil Grand, and Brett Kissel, and has found success both in his live performances and at his recording studio, MuzikHaus Records.

Pat and Craig have been playing together for nine years, and in that time, have developed an onstage chemistry that’s second-to-none.
